Movable Worship Seating

Suburban Church Furniture offers many forms of movable, multi-use worship seating for versatility in our fast paced, multifunctional society. The movable church furniture looks like it is part of a permanent worship setting. It is easily moved, allowing multi-purpose use of the building. The movable church chairs include an interlocking unit that holds the chairs in uniform pew-like rows. The chairs come in three different lengths, 20 inches for one individual, 40 inches for two and 60 inches to seat three people. All three can be interlocked, allowing any number of seating arrangements. Four Pew Models to Choose From
   1.  Model A, all finished wood with your choice of solid oak, solid sycamore, solid pine.

We highly recommend red oak for its hardness and strength rating. The timeless attraction to this natural resource is in the richness and warmth of real wood. The unique color and character of each individual piece of lumber is brought to life once finished.  Pre catalyzed lacquer with a satin, or gloss finish is applied as a final step to insure the beauty and quality of our pews for years to come.

Below are a few examples of pew end styles in red oak, pine, and sycamore in stained and painted finishes. We can do variety of shapes, plain or sculptured top crowns, carvings, and many natural finishes. The pews can have any of several selections of upholstery styles and colors, or natural finished wood seating surface.  If you prefer the white colonial style, we can accent the crown and base with any finished wood you wish.

Church Pew Specifications

All pews and pew components will be manufactured using first quality solid wood of the selected wood specie, Red Oak or Sycamore, FAS grade, selected for color and texture. Exposed wood to be free of large knots and blemishes with only pin knots and character forming marks allowed. No particleboard, plywood or veneers of any type to be used in any pew or pew component. All lumber shall be stacked dry to a maximum of 20% moisture content and kiln dried and stress relieved to a moisture content of 5%—8%, The colonial pew end (white finished end) is the only pew end made of medium density fiberboard to maintain high quality paint finish with no grain exposure.

 Baptistry or Baptistries

We have many Baptistry Models available, one of which will be perfect for you church needs.

Many of these baptistries allow the minister to remain dry - outside the baptistry- during the baptism. The candidate is baptized from a seated position on a molded platform, making the process easier than with conventional baptistries. Baptistry accessories include acrylic windows, child's steps, in-tank seats, drip landings, heaters, special coatings for extended finish protection, detachable steps, and other features.

You may select from many variations with single side or two side steps.  Steps are available from the left or right site of the baptismal. Larger models are available or compact models available to meet your church needs. Some of our most popular styles, with double entries feature an offset tank to provide more room for the baptism. Our model 14 Baptistry will accommodate many wall configurations and angles with steps at 180, 90 or 45 degree angles.
We have compact and portable baptistries designed for  churches who have very limited space, but want a baptistry. Just large enough for two people, the they can be installed below the stage and covered with a 4' x 8' platform. To determine the size steeple for your church building, use a height approximately the same as the height from the ground level to the ridge of your building. Building style, design preference, and other special conditions must be taken into consideration when making your selection. Please call us if we can assist you in your selection. There is no obligation.


LIGHTNING PROTECTION ...Lightning protection can be added to steeple upon request. The aluminum wire will run from the top of the steeple to the bottom. The church is responsible for taking it to the outside and grounding it. Extra ground wire can also be purchased. It is not grounded by our installers.

WIND BRACING ...Wind bracing MUST be added to all steeples installed within 50 miles of any coast.

CROSSES FOR CHURCH STEEPLES... Crosses may be added to church steeples.  White is the standard color but other colors are available.  The steeple will be shortened 12"-18" to mount the cross. Several cross variations are available.

Periodically maintenance is necessary in order to preserve the beauty function of stained glass windows. Like windows in our homes and other structures, panes of glass can be replaced when damaged. Unlike typical windows however, stained glass windows require various types and colors of glass. Southern Church Supply can provide the regular maintenance and periodic restorations necessary for your stained glass windows can last for the life of your church.

Restoration of stained glass windows is generally needed between 25 and 50 years after the original installation. A good program of preventative maintenance is your best insurance against permanent damage. Windows can be checked and repaired or partially restored without removing them from the building in which they reside.

A complete restoration involves removing framed sets of windows from the structure in which they were installed. Once in a stained glass studio, window panels are removed from the frame. The windows are then completely disassembled and cleaned. At this time any repairs needed such as replacement of broken glass are made. At times the original type of glass is no longer available. Should this be the case, attempts are made to find replacement glass which will retain the integrity of the windows composition.
