Most of the .308 loading data has been developed in 2003 working with the Remington Light Tactical
Rifle. We have tried several powders and bullets and tested the Federal Match ammo.
The Federal Match is so good, there is hardly any reason to try to duplicate it with hand loading. For hunting, we have found a great load that is accurate and shoots to the same point of aim at 100 yards as the Match ammo, so we can go from range to deer stand without touching the scope settings. That load was developed using the Hornady SST 150 grain bullet, 47.5 grains of IMR4064, a CCI 250 primer and Winchester cases. The velocity of 2840 fps from the 20" LTR is right at the advertised velocity of the standard .308 150 grian hunting load.
